Artist Statement

“The creation of art,
In all its diverse forms,
Allows each one of us
To sing the song anew.”

Mixed media on canvas has become part of my painting world. I am lucky because I have always enjoyed playing all the part that go into the creation of my life….inside our home, the garden, or studio. I like the process beginning to end. These prints allow me a time for contemplation, putting the stretcher bars together....squared properly...stapling on the printed canvas requires technique...all by my hand…then while brushing on the protective coating...I have the time to take a good look and revisit old stories, colors, compositions, and then when the brush and oil paint come into play with time spent painting on the canvas…I get to see the image anew and make any changes I choose and give it new life. In the end these mixed media giclee canvas prints are as close as you can get to one of my original oil paintings.
