Jesse Hummingbird is a tribal member of the Cherokee Nation. Attending the University of Tennessee and later at the Academy of Art in Chicago he has established himself as a successful printer and fine art artist. |

Jesse draws on the traditional "flat" style brought to Oklahoma after the earlier development in Santa Fe in the 1930's - subjects without modeling or contour, no shadows or shading of color, but inlining of all colors. Jesse is also influence by the art of the mound builders and also Mayan art. |
